What we’re about to share with you is not just the story of a house, it’s the story of our family, our roots, our dreams, and the many new beginnings that have shaped us. Casa Caroseno was born from the strength and resilience of two simple, yet extraordinary people: our grandparents, Rosa and Giuseppe.

After trying to build a life in Brazil, where they lived for several years in São Paulo, they returned to Puglia in the late 1950s when our father was 1 years old.

Life back then wasn’t easy. They were poor, and farming was their only source of income. They spent long days working in the fields, without any shelter from the elements.
Everything changed one stormy day. They were out working the land, as usual, with our great-grandmother, our grandfather’s mother, who was old and unwell. As the rain poured down and she trembled in the cold, our grandfather realized something had to change. There was no place to protect his family, and that moment made it clear: they needed to build a refuge in the countryside. So he decided to build the Casa, even though money was tight.
The house was built around 1950 by Uncle Narduccio, our grandmother’s brother, who built it from scratch with his own hands.

The land was surrounded by old almond trees, and that year the harvest was so abundant they were able to pay for the construction. But hard times came again, about fifteen years later, a fire destroyed those trees and part of the house. Our grandmother still remembers that day vividly, and it only deepened her connection to this place.
Over time, that little countryside house became the heart of our family. Summers were filled with laughter, barefoot runs down the driveway, the sweet scent of freshly picked cherries, and long tables of shared meals and stories. We celebrated birthdays, seasons, milestones. It's a place where memories live in the walls, in the sound of the wind through the trees, and in the warm colors of the Puglian sunsets.

After our grandfather passed away, our bond with the house grew even stronger. In 2018, our father Giovanni decided to bring it back to life. It was a long and challenging journey, but it was also filled with love and intention. The renovation was finally completed in 2025, and today Casa Caroseno is ready to welcome new guests.
It’s not just a place to stay , it’s a place to truly live. Here, you can slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the countryside in an authentic way. Let the local rhythms, scents, and flavors of Puglia guide you through a different kind of holiday, one that feels like coming home.
This is our home. This is our story. And now, if you’d like, it can become a little part of yours too.
With love,
Francesca and Giuseppe
